Call for Tucson Artists, Performers, Vendors, Sponsors and Volunteers for the “Dionysia in the Desert” Street Festival Fundraiser

First Annual Dionysia in the Desert

The Foundation of L.I.F.E. announces the First Annual Dionysia in the Desert Street Festival to be held in conjunction with the Grand Opening of the Borderlands Brewery in downtown Tucson tentatively on April 14, 2011.

The goal of the event is to highlight the local Arizona economy through artists, performers, vendors, and sponsors from all over the state of Arizona while as they help raise funds that will support community developed and managed education programs that serve as supplemental alternatives to the current programs whose funds are drastically being depleted by our state leadership.

The Street Festival is scheduled to be held on East Toole Avenue between North 6th and North Stone Avenues.

The Street Festival will commence at noon and end at 10:00 PM. The event will feature musicians, DJs, VJs, fire artists and other types of performances on multiple stages and all along sculpture lined streets reminiscent of the Roman Forum or Marketplace. Participation is needed at the following levels:

  • Event Sponsors are needed to contribute in-kind or at cost material, intellectual, human, and financial resources necessary to the festival’s operations.
  • Food Vendors are needed to provide local organic natural produce and prepared food products to participants throughout the event.
  • Arts & Craft Vendors are needed to offer other local products and services to participants throughout the day as well.
  • Exhibitors of local consumer products and informational services are also needed to offer samples and trials to participants.
  • Artists are needed to provide interactive, non-interactive, and performance art to captivate the audience and encourage their direct participation in the festivities.
  • Entertainers from all genres are needed for all types of live performances that will be occurring throughout the day.
